Dental Implant Restorations

Dr. O'Neal recommends dental implants to support a number of dental prostheses, including single crowns, implant-supported bridges or implant overdentures. A dental implant is usually made of titanium and resembles a tooth "root." In dentistry, Implants are used to support the restorations that are necessary to replace individual teeth or group of teeth that are missing.

Typically, an oral surgeon places the dental implant and allows 2-6 months for the implant to integrate to the surrounding bone. Once the implant is ready to restore, Dr. O'Neal takes an impression of the implant; from that impression the dental lab fabricates an abutment connector piece and final crown. Most of our patients report that their implants look and feel like natural teeth.

A variety of materials are available for your final implant prosthesis; we can choose these together based on your specific aesthetic and functional needs. Like any restoration, dental implants require regular oral hygiene home care as well as implant maintenance appointments with Dr. O'Neal and his team.
